The Newtown Community Development Corporation is encouraging all to attend their Community Land Trust Orientation happening on Thursday, April 16, 2015. The orientation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 in the evening at the Paiute Center, Building 7 – Room 1, 6535 E Osborn Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Those attending will be able to learn about Newtown Community Land Trust (CLT) programs (Chandler, Scottsdale, and Tempe), how to buy a CLT home, city-specific information (income, property requirements, target areas), how the ground lease works, eligibility and income requirements, as well as typical rehabilitation.

Newtown is a non-profit corporation and a HUD-approved housing counselling agency. It too has adopted the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counselling.

The event will be from 6:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon at the Westworld of Scottsdale, 16601 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Participants will get to choose between a half marathon and 5k. This would surely be a race unlike any other as attendees will get to run either on a traditional road course or super Challenge courses with the tests of strength and agility.

Be sure to stick around and celebrate with a fun post-race party full of live music and amazing prizes.

The event will be from 6:00 to 10:00 in the evening and will be held at the Stonegate Community Center, 11551 E Mountain View  Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Attendees can push their luck at Let-It-Ride, Black Jack, Craps, and Roulette. Guests may also “buy in” to donate as well as purchase more cards at any time during the evening.

Everyone is invited to be part of the Adapted Recreation Services (ARS) ‘Backyard BBQ and Game Night’ happening on Friday, April 10, 2015. The event will be from 6:00 until 10:00 in the evening at the Chaparral Drinkwater Building, 8102 E. Jackrabbit Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Guests will have dinner as well as get to participate in a variety of games and activities at the city’s first community center which is designed for people with disabilities.

The ARS has been providing community programs for people with disabilities for the longest time.

Admission is at $4 per person.

Interested parties may register by calling the Adaptive Recreation Offices or through the City’s online registration system.
