Nature lovers are invited to join the Night Lights Tour at the Taliesin West which will be until Monday, September 1, 2014. Tours will be at the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West, 12621 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Guests will get to choose among a broad range of tours which highlights Wright’s great skill in integrating indoor and outdoor space. Visitors can appreciate the site, said to be among Wright’s greatest masterpieces, which was created as Wright’s personal home, architectural laboratory, and studio.

Frank Lloyd Wright together with his apprentices built the Taliesin West in the 1930s. The place was constantly expanded and modified by the architect up until his death in 1959. The Taliesin West was literally created out of the desert through collecting rocks from the desert floor and sand from the washer. This was carried out to keep everything at par with the surrounding environment.

Everyone is invited to attend the Water Safety – We CAN Prevent Drowning Workshop on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. The workshop will be from 6:30 to 7:30 in the evening at the Mustang Library – Auditorium, 10101 North 90th Street, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Because August is Drowning Impact Awareness Month, the City’s Fire Department will have a staff review on how to be safe and aware when near or around water.

Drowning can be prevented from happening. Lives can be saved with a few simple steps.

Blocking access to water like ensuring barriers is properly placed so children would not have easy access to spas, pools, and similar water hazards. Another is by simply watching the water. Children and adults should not swim alone if there are no water watchers at the area. Using life jackets while swimming in the pools or wading at lakes and rivers are likewise recommended. Individuals should learn how to swim and do to CPR as these two skills may save a life.
