b2ap3_thumbnail_Scottsdale_Paint-Horse.pngGet set as the Arizona Paint Horse Club (APHC) presents the Harvest of Color on November 30, 2013 from 8:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon at the West World of Scottsdale located at 16601 North Pima Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.

This event will run until December 1, 2013 and will take place at Arenas 3 and 4 as well as at the Wendell Show Office. Spectators can witness the competitions free of charge.

This 2-Judge Show has invited Kathryn Boggetta from Michigan and Daren Wright from Ohio to evaluate the different entries.

b2ap3_thumbnail_Scottsdale-Artwalk.pngTake a leisurely stroll at the Scottsdale Arts District on Thursday, November 28, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 in the evening and marvel at the different art pieces featured for the ArtWalk. Home to different art galleries, the District is located along Marshall Way and Main Street in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona. 

On the 28th, the LewAllen Galleries on 7036 East Main Street will be exhibiting the Internal Narrative Collection by artist Sean Peters. 

The ArtWalk takes place every Thursday of the week where member galleries of the Scottsdale Gallery Association open their doors to showcase the artworks of various Southwestern artists. 

 Every week except on Thanksgiving, the general public is able to freely visit the galleries and enjoy the wonderful Scottsdale Downtown ambiance. Enjoy the surroundings decorated with artistic statues and sculptures, sparkling fountains, and tree-lined courtyards. Within the vicinity are famous restaurants and horse-drawn carriage and trolley rides. 

From time to time, famous artists and other notable guests also grace the ArtWalk in line with special events and exhibits.

b2ap3_thumbnail_CEP.pngCollman Equestrian Productions is presenting the Arizona Season Finale II on November 24, 2013 from 8:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon at the West World of Scottsdale located at 16601 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Collman Equestrian Productions is a full-service hunter jumper horse show company that offers the following services:

·         Horse show production and management

·         Full staffing services

·         Equipment rentals, such as jumps, timers, PA systems, and communications

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Chris Collman gave birth to Collman Equestrian Productions in 1990.

Beginning at the early age of five, Chris has been actively involved in the hunter jumper industry. Since then, he has grown to be a rider, trainer, horse owner, and horse show official.

At present, Chris manages over twenty international and local hunter jumper competitions in Arizona and California. He is licensed under the United States Equestrian Foundation (USEF) as a Hunter and Jumper Course Designer. He also teaches in both USEF-certified and private course design clinics all over the country.

The four-day Exposition will be offering equine clinics and seminars for those who are interested to gain comprehensive knowledge about sport horses. 

Here are some of the event highlights to look forward to:

·         Young Horse Free-Jump Challenge

·         Graceful Dressage Illustration

b2ap3_thumbnail_Scottsdale-Public-Library.pngThe Contemporary Literature Book Discussion Group has scheduled a book review and discussion on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30PM at the Civic Center Gold Room. Similar gatherings happen every 2nd Wednesday of the month. 

For January, the book in focus is “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Coast,” a much-loved adventure novel based on the real experiences of Cheryl Strayed. 

Activities such as this are initiated by the Friends of Scottsdale Library. This group supports lifelong learning through the implementation of different programs.
