b2ap3_thumbnail_ScottsdalePublicArt_image.jpgInspired by the surroundings of the Forest Floor, Phoenix artist Roy Watson Valley heads one of the most interesting children's events of the summer: the Forest Floor Wooden Spoon Puppet Workshop. An entire fantasy world filled with ogres, elves, fairies, witches and their talking cats is explored through puppets made from wooden spoons!

Designed to help participants see the wonder around of even the "ordinary" world around them, the Forest Floor Wooden Spoon Puppet Workshop allows you to create your own whimsical designs and contributions to the wonderful imaginary world of wooden spoon puppets. For children of all ages, the workshop is on August 6 at The Gallery at Civic Center Library.

b2ap3_thumbnail_ScottsdalePublicArt_image.jpgChildren of all ages will find the Forest Floor Fairy Tale Succulent Garden Workshop a fascinating way to introduce the principles of gardening by adding a little wonder at the Desert Botanical Garden.

The workshop lets children plant their own magical garden made just for their garden fairies, making sure that their garden has all the elements it needs to grow.  Materials are provided as part of The Forest Floor experience so that children and families can build the perfect garden during the workshop.

When the workshop is done, participants can bring their work home with them to plant while letting their imaginations soar, giving them an introduction to gardening they'll treasure forever.
